About Us

Kecia Johndrow is the founder of Bee's Knees Bakeshop. She brings to the bakery her experience as a baker and as a business owner. She has worked as a entrepreneur for over 10 years running a small business in the service industry. In the last three years she has increased her skills in the food industry by working part-time as a gluten free baker, taking baking classes through a number of local culinary institutes, and has increased her skills at custom cake decoration through a series of classes. In her role of VP for the Board of Directors for the National Autism Association she has taught workshops to local families as well as teens and young adults with autism on how to bake allergen free in their own homes.

The dream of Bee's Knees Bakeshop came about years ago when both her sons were diagnosed with food allergies. The idea of a bakery where those with food allergies could safely have a treat, order a custom cake, or eat breakfast and lunch out without worry of cross contamination soon grew into a reality and the doors were opened in late March 2011.

Bee's Knees Bakeshop is fully dedicated to bringing you gluten and dairy free baked goods and cafe items. We serve breakfast and lunch all day, have a daily offering of over 25 sweet treat flavors available to walk-ins, and do custom cake, pie, and treat orders!

* Disclaimer: Our facility is dedicated for gluten and dairy free foods. We do however use other allergens in our baking including eggs, nuts, and corn. There is always risk of cross contamination with these three allergens. We recommend that if you have a life threatening or serious allergy to egg, nut, or corn you should use precaution when purchasing our goods.*
